Dinner @ Bistronomy

Bistronomy - the new and cool kid in the block at Napier's dining district.

Their menu changes with the seasons and they are less about fine dining and more about fun dining. They make food for us to share and talk about and come back for more!

I visited them awhile ago with 4 other friends and we like their food so much that we ordered almost every item on their menu!

Let the pictures below do the talking instead.

Their bartender and waiter were all very friendly and they accommodated to our request for a shot after the meals - specially concocted "GodFather" shot for us (not on their menu). Thumbs up or the good service! =)
They have got interesting concepts for presenting all their food dishes! They are all photo worthy!
Duck liver parfait | crab apple gel | brioche | caramelized Te Mata fig
Personal liking: 3.5/5 (too little parfait compared to the other ingredients)
‘Chips n Dip’ | vegetable chips | house pita | sour cream & chivesPersonal liking: 4/5 (new way of eating chips - the Healthy way!)
Figalicious | leaf wrapped brunoro black | beet | goats cheese | fig molassesPersonal liking: 4/5 (understand that fig is not only found in the preserved fruit section of the supermarket)
Pork cheek | cooked sauerkraut | granny smith | fermented garlic | carawayPersonal liking: 4.5/5 (the combination of all the above mentioned ingredients made it a MUST TRY!)
End of the golden weather | pheasant | golden beets |peach | house tarragon ricottaPersonal liking: 3.5/5 (a slight "gamey" flavour, but interesting concept)
Szechuan cured venison tartar | Tahu oyster | wasabi powder | wakame dropPersonal liking: 4/5 (Perfect combination of venison and oyster - If you like raw stuffs)
Ain’t no thang like a chicken wing | fried | smoky crumb | Emma’s BBQ saucePersonal liking: 5/5 (so good that we have to order 2 plates of this!)
Manny’s Duck | poached quince | fennel nougat | potatoPersonal liking: 3.5/5 (Slightly tough though the flavours are perfectly combined!)
Issac Hayes | chocolate ganache | choux | salted caramelPersonal liking: 5/5 (The oozing of hot chocolate and caramel mix with the cold choux - Perfect!)
Pavlova | meringue | kiwifruit | vanilla | passionfruitPersonal liking: 5/5 (Pleasant surprise to find kiwifruit hidden in the pavlova!)
Total bill: Cost us about 60 NZD per person as we ordered 2 bottles of wine and a few non alcoholic drinks on top of the food.
